[ Photographs by Josh Duncan ]

It is not always easy to see the beauty in destruction, and sometimes there just isn’t really any beauty to find. The following photographs taken by Josh Duncan throughout the city are a credit to his ability as a photographer, as well as a perfect example of how it is possible for us to find new meaning and a new outlook even when parts of the city are still looking torn. Of course there is a reality here too, seeing the truth in these images, the outcome of an event that changed so many lives. This ‘abandoned’ series will show you a side of Christchurch you may have looked at but never really seen before.
